DRRRRRUMS PLEASE!!!!
I was so excited today on the most awesome warm day ever (well so far) to go downtown and hand out some pins. I even managed to recruit my sis and my friend Nicole to come with me to do photos and video!
On my way down, I decided that I wanted to look for the creative folks I see everyday in the city. My intent was to interview a bunch of folks and make an ‘ode’ to the random creative people I met today. Kinda like a “pay it forward” thing… i get the chance to show off my creativity, so why not use this opportunity to show off others?!
Now, when i got down to young and dundas… i saw these guys druming. i’m a sucker for any kind of percussion… so of course i grabbed my flip and captured what i think was the coolest thing ever. They got someone from the crowd to come dance. and man… can she ever!
The unfortunate thing was that the sky decided to start closing in during their performance and just as they were ending, it start pouring rain in every direction imagineable! So, i didnt get to interview them.. which sucks… i dont even know what they’re called! But, i will always have this video i shot!

OMG You captured a *moment*!!!! There are tears in my eyes!!! I’ve never been interested in living in the Big Smoke and I rarely get down there, but I crave stuff like that like you wouldn’t even believe.
Also? I was going to write a blog post about this, but I’m lazy so I probably won’t, but this contest has made me feel *SO* Canadian (keeping in mind that 99% of my friends are online-only and 90% of them are not Canadian) and what you captured in that video makes me feel even moreso. A moment like that could only happen in Toronto.
Anyway, thanks so much for sharing this, Telma. You’re a rockstar. (And I’m sorry your plans got ruined by rain, ours did too.)
