TAKE ME BACK HOME

I was so excited today on the most awesome warm day ever (well so far) to go downtown and hand out some pins. I even managed to recruit my sis and my friend Nicole to come with me to do photos and video!

On my way down, I decided that I wanted to look for the creative folks I see everyday in the city. My intent was to interview a bunch of folks and make an ‘ode’ to the random creative people I met today. Kinda like a “pay it forward” thing… i get the chance to show off my creativity, so why not use this opportunity to show off others?!

Now, when i got down to young and dundas… i saw these guys druming. i’m a sucker for any kind of percussion… so of course i grabbed my flip and captured what i think was the coolest thing ever. They got someone from the crowd to come dance. and man… can she ever!

The unfortunate thing was that the sky decided to start closing in during their performance and just as they were ending, it start pouring rain in every direction imagineable! So, i didnt get to interview them.. which sucks… i dont even know what they’re called! But, i will always have this video i shot!

Hey guys!

Ok, I have to dedicate a blog post to this because it’s just too awesome. Nima got the Cube Tattooed on himself as part of his entry for the Nissan Cube contest and that’s the most hardcore thing I’ve ever seen. I half contemplated getting the Hypercube Logo tattooed on myself for a video to post, but I just couldn’t do it. Now, if i happen to win a Cube, that’s a different story

I myself have tat’s and I very much bow down to Mr. Nima… you sir… have what i call – balls.

Hey guys!

so i’m sitting here thinking… this is a Word Of Mouth campaign… so, what if we all banded together and hit up some major blogs and influential people?? I’m thinking they would have to take notice… no?

so, this is a letter that i have drafted that i’m going to send to as many people as possible, BUT i need your help to make it count. This isnt just for me… and i’m not asking for votes… this is for the contest and for everyone! please feel free to use it!!!

I’m writing to you today because i wanted to tell you about the coolest campaign i have ever been involved with in my life! Nissan Canada is giving away 50 Nissan Cubes to creative Canadians! And by word of mouth, i really mean word of mouth! This whole campaign has been 99.9 percent solely done via social media. Mainly… Twitter via the name TheHypercube. Yes i know twitter is all the rage, BUT think about this… The automotive industry has shifted it ways of thinking… no more big billboards, shiny commercials… print ads… they’re letting the consumer, no wait, the PASSIONATE consumers get the word out there for them! You what i call this? Innovation…. and you know what… it’s about time!!!

Now, 500 lucky Canadians, including myself have been chosen out of thousands to “audition” for the top 50 spots via this website: http://hypercube.ca Everyone get’s to show off their creativity and why they should win a Nissan Cube.

Now if you think about this… it’s not just about getting consumers to promote the product for you. Nissan is giving Canadians the opportunity to show off their stuff! A little bit of give a little bit of take… PERFECT!

After walking around for a few hours in my oh so favorite chuck taylors, i realized that my feet were blistering horribly! I love my chucks… i really do… so much so that i wore them on my wedding day, check it out!

My mom is STILL mad at me for wearing those! lol

Anyhoo, as i was saying, i LOVE my chucks, i have them in a ton of colors… BUT i need better walking shoes… so my question to you is: from the shoes below, which should i get????

Man, i can’t even begin to explain the feeling i have right now. All i know is that as soon as i saw my profile page, i started shaking with excitement!!! I took some time to look through all the canvases so far and there’s some pretty damn cool people out there! Here’s hoping that i’m one of the lucky 50!!!
